2009-2018 Dodge Ram Accessories & Parts
Offering a smooth, comfortable ride combined with plenty of hauling and towing competence, the 2009-2018 Dodge Ram 1500 is a tried and true design with plenty of modern conveniences and features to make it one of today’s best pickups. Early gen models feature 3.7L V6 and 4.7L V8 engines, while since 2012, the offerings choices include 3.6L Pentastar V6, 5.7L Hemi V8, and 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engines developing 305, 395, and 240 horsepower and 269, 410, and 420 ft-lbs of torque respectively. Towing capacity is up to 10,450 lbs for the biggest engine, depending on the truck’s exact setup. The Dodge Ram also has lots of different trim levels and special editions to choose from. The 2018 Ram 1500 – the last model year of the 2nd generation, with 3rd-gen 2019 Rams due in 2018 – brings back the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine, now compliant with EPA emissions standards, and offers more luxurious features, like a 4G wireless hotspot, HD radio, improved infotainment systems, and new grilles and emblems for the higher trim levels. There are also two fresh Special Editions to pick from – the Harvest Edition for farmers with 17” aluminum wheels, all terrain tires, a tow package, and unique interior details, and the Laramie Longhorn Southfork Edition, a super deluxe variant with wood interior trim and 20” polished wheels. The 2018 Ram remains a great platform for aftermarket modding just like the rest of the 2nd gen Rams – browse American Trucks’ great selection of lift kits, all-terrain tires, wheels, cold air intakes, throttle enhancements, exhaust systems, and other parts to get your next upgrade kickstarted with style and quality!
Running from 2009 through 2018, the fourth generation of the Dodge Ram 1500 continued its success as a consumer pickup truck, sticking to its award-winning traits while updating the technology to be competitive with the rest of the trucks in the market. The engine, suspension, storage, and cab were all updated on the 2009 Ram 1500, helping to increase sales even more. The Ram 1500 was offered with 3.7L V6 making 215 HP and 235 TQ, the 4.7l V8 making 310 HP and 330 TQ, and the 5.7L Hemi V* making 407 HP. In 2012 and 2013, Dodge shifted up their engine offerings, removing the 3.7L 6 cylinder and replacing it with the Wrangler’s 3.6L Pentastar V6 that makes 305 HP and 269 TQ, ending production of the 4.7L V8 and updating the performance of the 5.7L to have 395 HP and 410 TQ (an increase of 5 HP and 3 TQ). Dodge also offered the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine for the first time in 2014, quickly becoming a popular choice amongst enthusiasts. As other manufacturers have shifted to only offering automatic transmissions, Dodge has the luxury of claiming a class exclusive on manual transmissions. The leaf springs on the Ram 1500 were replaced with a coil spring five-link suspension setup that provides a smooth and comfortable ride. In 2013, Dodge redesigned the front fascia, wheels and interior, while also offering new trim packages such as the Laramie, Longhorn, Limited, Tradesman, Express, SLT, Big Horn, Lone Star, Sport, and R/T. The 2009-2018 Dodge Ram 1500 is more modifiable than ever thanks to large selection of aftermarket parts that can customize everything from bumper to bumper.
